Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This policy explains how Red Society collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account and use the Platform:

Account Information: Your full name, email address, and password when you register.

Profile Information: Your Instagram handle, city, biography, and profile photograph that you choose to provide.

Identity Verification: Selfie photographs and profile images you upload for identity verification purposes in connection with event applications.

Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Platform, including pages viewed, events applied to, features used, and timestamps of activity.

Device Information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers, collected automatically when you access the Platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

(a) Event Management: To process your applications to private events, communicate your approval or rejection to event organizers, and manage your guest status.

(b) Identity Verification: To verify your identity, prevent fraudulent accounts, and maintain the integrity of our curated community.

(c) Communications: To send you transactional emails related to your account, applications, and event updates via our email service provider.

(d) Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, troubleshoot issues, and improve the features and performance of the Platform.

(e) Safety and Compliance: To enforce our Terms of Service, protect the security of the Platform, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Event Promoters: When you are approved for an event, your profile information (name, photograph, and relevant details) is shared with the event organizer solely for guest management purposes. Promoters are bound by confidentiality obligations and may not use this information for any other purpose.

Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating the Platform (see Third-Party Services below). These providers are contractually obligated to use your data only as directed by us.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information where required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase cloud infrastructure. Supabase uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit, and is hosted on reputable cloud providers with SOC 2 compliance. Your data is retained for as long as your account is active or as required to provide our services, and for a reasonable period thereafter for legal and operational purposes.

Profile photographs and media are stored in encrypted object storage and are accessible only via time-limited, signed URLs.

5. Your Rights

You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction: You may update or correct your information at any time via your Settings page.

Deletion: You may delete your account and associated data at any time via your Settings page, or by contacting us directly. Note that some data may be retained for a limited period as required by law or legitimate business interests.

Portability: You may request a structured, machine-readable copy of your personal data by contacting us at privacy@redevents.app.

6. Cookies

Red Society uses strictly necessary session cookies for authentication purposes. When you sign in, we set a secure, HTTP-only session cookie that identifies your authenticated session. This cookie is essential for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled without preventing you from logging in.

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not use cookies to build behavioral profiles or serve targeted advertising.

7. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services in operating the Platform:

Supabase — Database, authentication infrastructure, and file storage. Your profile data and media are stored on Supabase servers. Supabase Privacy Policy: supabase.com/privacy

Resend — Transactional email delivery. Your email address is shared with Resend solely to deliver account-related communications. Resend Privacy Policy: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy

We do not integrate advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or data broker services.

8. Children's Privacy

Red Society is intended solely for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@redevents.app.

9. GDPR — EU Users

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Our legal basis for processing your personal data is primarily the performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, where applicable, our legitimate interests in operating a safe and curated platform (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (supervisory authority) if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully. You also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to request restriction of processing in certain circumstances. 10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and notify members by email where required by law. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
